Cycling the Pyrenees was an exceptional experience! The terrain is very challenging offering exhilarating workouts but more importantly amazing vistas almost immediately as you come out of the valley floors. The natural beauty of the Pyrenees is what makes it so special. Lots of varied terrain and the road system accessing passes is unrivaled. For those that love climbing, like I do, I don’t think it gets any better.

The itineraries were terrific. I have done several tours and access to a guide that knows the area intimately like Jean-Philippe does, is key. He gave us everything we asked for and more. We did several of the famous climbs but some of the best terrain was on quite roads not seen by other tour operators.

We chose to alternate self-guided with supported days. Jean-Philippe was very diligent and responsive in helping us plan our trip. He understood what we were looking for and gave us exactly what we asked. When we were in France he was very helpful, spending a lot of time with us in after hours making sure we were organized for the next day. The quality of the maps and his assistance in planning our days was top notch.

Having some supported days was terrific; it allowed us to make adjustments to the weather conditions that made every day worthwhile. More importantly, these guided days were the most memorable days of our tour. By using the support we were able to do two-day trips that were very special for their beauty and challenge. Jean-Philippe seemed happy to be with us all day (and these were very full days!), always encouraging us in his positive way. We received personalized service from someone that clearly loves the area in which he is guiding. Again, not sure how it could be any better.

I would highly recommend Jean-Philippe’s tours if you'd like to ride some of the most amazing roads in the world with the help of a very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable guide. This is a fantastic holiday opportunity for those that love challenging road riding.
