Here are the 10 most difficult bicycle climbs in the Pyrenees. The three most difficult ones are very little known and have never been featured in the Tour de France. The lower mountains of the Atlantic Pyrenees feature some of the steepest climbs. I only list here climbs that can be ridden with a road-bike.

  2. Col d'Elhursaro (& Col d'Heganzo):   1,145m / 3,757 ft - (Pyrenees-Atlantique)

  3. Pic d'Artzamendi:   915 m / 3,002 ft - (Pyrenees-Atlantique)

  4. Col de Peguere:   1,375 m / 4,511 ft - (Ariege)

  5. Col de la Crouzette:   1,241 m / 4,072 ft - (Ariege)

  6. Col de Portus:   1,736 m / 5,696 ft - (Pyrenees-Orientales)

  7. Artigue (village):   1,240 m / 5,873 ft - (Hautes-Pyrenees)

  8. Col de Portet-d'Aspet:   1,059 m / 5,696 ft - (west ascent from Pont de l'Oule) - (Hautes-Pyrenees)

  9. Col de Spandelles:   1,380 m / 4,528 ft - (west ascent from Etchartes) - (Hautes-Pyrenees)

  10. Col de Mente:  1,349 m / 4,426 ft - (west ascent from St-Beat) - (Hautes-Pyrenees)
