Do I Want A Support Vehicle?

Touring with a support vehicle costs more, especially for a single person or a party of only two, but the advantages can make it well worthwhile:

• Your extra clothing, snacks, favorite energy drinks, spare parts and cycling niceties—like hot tea for the tops of cold passes—travels right with you without any additional exertion on your part
• Whatever your level of accomplishment, the vehicle gives you flexibility that allows you to cycle what you want in relative comfort and skip what you don't want so you can focus on the choicest parts
• You can easily extend your range to access more distant climbs that wouldn't be possible on a route which is limited by how far you can cycle
• Groups of differing cycling levels—and even non-cyclists—can easily and happily enjoy the scenic routes together
• Just in case, instantaneous response for safety, comfort issues and those moments when you really need a cheerleader!

Is transportation from the US included in this tour?

Roundtrip transport to the tour is not included.

What are my lunch options?

Every day your guide will offer suggestions on where to stop for lunch (local restaurants, little cafes, nice bakeries, local markets) or optional lunches can be reserved and delivered by your support vehicle.

Can I bring my own bike from the US?

Most international airlines will accept a partly disassembled bicycle inside a bike case as one piece of luggage for no additional cost, but make sure you double-check with your airline. In France, you can travel with your disassembled bike packed in a protective case on all trains. We'll be happy to help you reassemble your bicycle when you get here. For ease of transport on our tour, we prefer the soft cases as they take much less space.
