DESCRIPTION
The climb to Pic d'Artzamendi,
with its ever-changing scenery, is one of the little known jewels of the
Pyrenees. This narrow ribbon of road winds its way through dense, ancient
forests before climbing out into open hills that showcase stunning panoramic
views of the French and Spanish Atlantic Pyrenees. Don't let the small elevation
gain here fool you: the last 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) of this climb extremely steep
with a brief 20% stretch will challenge even the best climbers.
