DESCRIPTION
Hautacam has broken some of the world's best cyclists and remains a favorite mountain finish stage of the Tour de France. Often referred to as the Alpes-d'Huez
of the Pyrenees, it features outstanding views and even more challenges than its Alpine counterpart. The smooth asphalt features painted names of the Tour's favorites, giving you a twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly past them on one of the
Tour's toughest climbsonce going up and once going down!
Fortunately, Hautacam begins with grades between 5 and 7% giving you a chance to warm up
before you have to tackle the killer grades in the middle section that
average 9 to 10% before easing up slightly towards the end. Come prepared for a difficult climb!
If you want to know what it feels like to ride a whole stage of the Tour, try my Routes 10 and 11.
