DESCRIPTION
Col de Peyresourde, already featured more than 50 times in the Tour de France, is a classic climb linking the towns of St-Lary and Bagnères-de-Luchon that gives you clear views to the surrounding mountains all the way up. Even though it gains 950 meters (3,117 ft) of elevation over 14.3 kilometers (8.9 mi) from Luchon, Col de Peyresourde rises only 1569 meters (5,148 ft) high, making it low enough to be done early or late in the year. Flatter sections less than 3% are interspersed with steeper grades, generally under 8%, making it easier than many other Pyrenees climbs. That makes it a great choice for moderately fit cyclists or anyone looking for a not-overwhelmingly-challenging day.
