"Best Cycling Routes of the Pyrénées" — Tour de France History

The Tour de France is the world's most demanding professional sporting events. The key stages are always set in the French mountains and more tours have been won in the Pyrenees than anywhere else. Every climber dreams of winning a mountain stage of the Tour de France or of accruing enough points to wear the coveted polka-dot jersey awarded to the best climber. This page pays homage to cyclists who have climbed some of these famous ascents—and especially to the racers who have broken away from the pack to be in front at the top! The climbs are listed in geographical order from west to east and the top climbers in chronological order beginning with the most recent ones.
