Sure, the climbs are extraordinary, the scenery is stunning and the food is great. What set the trip apart for me, though, was Jean-Philippe. He loves the Pyrenees, loves bikes, but most importantly, loves sharing it all with his clients. It was really important to him that I had a good time, whether that meant shuttling me from rain to sunshine or cheering me on when I was sucking wind. He consistently did more than was required to make sure that the trip was a success.
The mountains will be there, and they will be spectacular, but I was surprised at how important the right guide was to the success of the trip. Thanks!

I am writing to you upon my return to England after our self-guided Pyrenees cycling tour through Native Planet Adventures.
Everything was perfect and it was good to meet you in France. The routes were perfect and well planned considering how little you knew of us — we did everything on the routes. Whilst we loved the classic TdF routes - Hautacam, Tourmalet, Aubisque etc, we also enjoyed the smaller routes through wonderful villages and scenes.
The accommodation could not have been better. The hotels were friendly and the food fantastic. The reception from our Argeles hotel hosts was quite simply second to none in the world.
On the day we had a problem with one of the bikes your help in addressing the problem and your local knowledge was immeasurably important in ensuring we did not lose a day of our trip and we missed not a kilometer of the routes. Your commitment to us that day was beyond business. Your interest was in us as people and not simply as clients.
We could not highly enough recommend your services and your cycling holidays. I have learned a lot and enjoyed a spectacularly beautiful part of the world. I hope to be able to return and ride again these roads and do battle with these cols and their challenging gradients. With very best wishes.

Kudos on J-Philippe's guidebook: "Best Cycling Routes of the Pyrenees":
In 2008 I fulfilled a 20-year dream of attending the Tour de France live. I knew the mountains in the French Alpes wanted to ride; I just needed the ride routes and local knowledge to assist me. I had a fantastic time but it required a lot of research on the web to achieve that result. In 2011 I am off to the Pyrenees for another Tour de France trip.
I have just purchased Jean-Philippe's Guidebook "Best Cycling Routes of the Pyrenees". It is now my Pyrenees "bible" on everything from ride routes, to the grand and lesser-known Cols. Local knowledge at its best and hours of my research time has been done. Thank you, keep up the great work.
